Sky Sports: Southampton name Tino Livramento price tag after rejecting Newcastle's £30m bid
Sky Sports have released an update on Newcastle's pursuit of Tino Livramento, claiming Southampton have rejected our latest bid worth £30m.
They report that the Saints 'want at least £40m' for the right-back and would ideally like to keep the 20-year-old, despite their relegation to the Championship.
Newcastle are still working on a deal and remain in talks, but Sky Sports say there's currently a gap between Southampton's valuation and what Toon chiefs are willing to pay.
Chelsea have a hefty sell-on clause in place after selling the England U21 talent for £5m two years ago, so any fee Southampton receive will see the Blues receive a sizeable windfall.
The player is thought to be keen on a move to St James' Park and personal terms will not be a problem, but it seems Friday night claims of a £30m deal being 'agreed' were premature.
Hopefully a compromise can be reached between the two clubs and the full-back can seal a move in the comings days.
