Newcastle set to launch take it or leave it bid for summer target - Report
According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle are prepared to make one last bid of around £30m for Southampton's Valentino Livramento after having multiple bids rejected.
There was a belief that the two clubs were close to agreement, but the Saints appeared to have moved the goalposts at the last minute and are demanding £40m for the full-back, which has frustrated Newcastle.
It's believed that the price was raised due to a hefty sell-on clause that Chelsea have on their former right-back. As a result, Southampton want to make sure that they still receiving a decent amount despite the clause.
Livramento is a very talented young player with bags of potential, but £40m would be a huge risk given that he is coming off the back of an ACL injury and rarely played last season.
Instead, we will return with a final offer of £30m and put the pressure on the Saints, as they could risk losing out on a significant fee for the 20-year-old.
