Andrea Romeo set to join Newcastle United - Report

According to Italian outlet La Repubblica, AC Milan’s Andrea Romeo is set to join Sandro Tonali at Newcastle to help him settle in the North East. 

Romeo has been 'team manager' for the Italian giants since 2017, but looks to be ready to leave and be integrated into Eddie Howe’s backroom team ahead of the new season. 

It’s believed that the 52-year-old - who previously worked as a Serie A referee - will primarily be brought in to help Tonali settle in the North of England, but it’s unclear whether he will work with other players in the future.

Tonali had spent his entire career in Italy and has had to start taking English lessons upon his arrival, so hopefully Romeo will be able to help him with the cultural shift. 

AC Milan will no doubt be frustrated with Newcastle after we already brought in one of their star players, and now we have returned for a key staff member.
