Tino Livramento rejected 'big six' rivals before joining Newcastle from Southampton - Report
According to The Mail, Tino Livramento turned down the chance to return to Stamford Bridge before sealing a summer move to Newcastle United.
They report that Chelsea showed interest in activating their buy-back option - which they inserted into a deal when selling the right-back to Southampton two years ago - but the 20-year-old preferred a move to Tyneside.
The Blues also inserted a 40% sell-on clause into his £5m switch to St Mary's back in 2021, meaning they could bank £13m of the initial £32m payment to Southampton.
However, it seems Livramento was excited by the new challenge on offer under Eddie Howe, preferring Champions League football and the opportunity to compete with Kieran Trippier; who he is likely to replace in years to come.
The England U21 talent made his Premier League debut for Newcastle in Saturday night's 1-0 defeat at Man City, briefly appearing on the right wing after replacing Miguel Almiron.
