New training photos offer 5 hints and first sighting Lewis Hall ahead of Liverpool clash

by Olly Hawkins ·

Newcastle United have released photos of the players in training ahead of Sunday's clash with Liverpool at St James' Park.

From the 26 photos released on Wednesday afternoon, there's no sign of Joelinton - who was forced off with an injury in Saturday night's 1-0 defeat at Man City - but a first glimpse of Lewis Hall following his loan-to-buy move from Chelsea.

Elsewhere, there's also no sign of injured trio Joe Willock, Emil Krafth and Javier Manquillo, with the former expected to be missing until after next month's first international break of the season. There's no Jacob Murphy either, who missed last weekend's game to be with his wife for the birth of his first child.

It's a concern to see no Joelinton, but worth mentioning that absence from training photos doesn't always mean the player is injured. Fabian Schar wasn't spotted in any of the photos leading up to our opening day win over Aston Villa yet was passed fit by Howe a few days later.

From the pictures released on NUFC.co.uk, it seems the following 19 players definitely trained (via The Mag):

Miguel Almiron, Elliot Anderson, Sven Botman, Dan Burn, Paul Dummett, Mark Gillespie, Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis Hall, Alexander Isak, Jamaal Lascelles, Tino Livramento, Sean Longstaff, Lewis Miley, Nick Pope, Fabian Schar, Matt Targett, Sandro Tonali.
