'Here we go!' - Former Toon target joins Saint-Maximin at Al Ahli in shock deal for Saudi Arabia

Despite strong links to Newcastle and a host of other top Premier League clubs this summer, Spanish sensation Gabri Veiga has agreed to join Saudi side Al Ahli.

The Celta Vigo star was heavily linked with a move to St James' Park prior to the arrival of Sandro Tonali, with Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid all showing interest.

However, a shock 'here we go' announcement from Fabrizio Romano last night confirmed that he's accepted an offer to join Allan Saint-Maximin at Al Ahli after being the club's 'secret top target.'

With the 21-year-old still in the early stages of his career and considered one of THE most exciting midfielders in world football, it's a huge deal for PIF - who own a majority stake in the top four clubs in Saudi Arabia - to land a player of his calibre ahead of so many European giants.

It's also a sign that money talks, but a real statement of intent from the Saudi Pro League, with Veiga joining the likes of Saint-Maximin, Firmino, Mahrez, Kessie, Ibanez and Mendy in Jeddah.
