Mo Salah linked with shock Liverpool exit ahead of Sunday's trip to Newcastle

According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Saudi side Al-Ittihad are pushing to sign Mo Salah ahead of Liverpool's trip to St James' Park this Sunday.

He reports that the Saudi Pro League giants have registered 'concrete interest' in the 31-year-old, with others claiming they're willing to make the Egyptian the highest paid player in the division; overtaking Cristiano Ronaldo's £150m salary at Al-Nassr.

Ornstein adds that it's 'unclear at this stage' if a move will take place. Either way, it's worrying news for Liverpool and hardly what they wanted to hear just a few days before they take on Eddie Howe's Mags at St James' Park.

Salah scored in their 3-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend and has become one of the great wingers we've seen in the Premier League, bagging 187 goals and 80 assists in 307 appearances for the Reds.

Alexis Mac Allister may be available on Sunday after his three-game ban was overturned, but let's hope this rattles the Reds and unsettles Salah ahead of their trip to Tyneside!
