Howe responds to Saudi Pro League rumours as Al-Shabab are linked with late move

Eddie Howe has given his thoughts on interest from the Saudi Pro League after Jamaal Lascelles was linked with a late move to the Middle East.

According to reports on Monday, Al-Shabab had identified the Newcastle United skipper as a late target, with the deadline in Saudi closing on Thursday 7th September.

However, Howe insists it's something he's 'not really considered', saying our squad is settled. It goes without saying, but he also adds that we 'couldn't afford to lose anybody', especially at centre-back.

In the end, we failed to bring in another central defender over the final week of the summer window and we've since seen an ankle injury to Sven Botman and Fabian Schar leave Brighton holding his hamstring.

"Our squad is settled and I expect our squad to stay together because certainly we couldn’t afford to lose anybody.”
