Newcastle have finally secured the signing of Wolves talent Leo Shahar.
The 16-year-old full-back has posted photos (see below) of him holding up the Newcastle United shirt at St James' Park, with the England U16 international set to link up with our U18s.
Shahar had been at Wolves for a decade and has been given high praise, with some believing he has the potential to become a top Premier League defender.
The teenager spent most of last season involved with Wolves' U18 side, where he made 15 league appearances and scored twice. He also spent part of last season training with their U21s.
There has been a big emphasis on improving the quality and standard of our academy sides and this signing epitomises what kind of impact Dan Ashworth has had in the last 18 months, with fellow England youth star Trevan Sanusi also due to sign.
The club also brought in highly-rated Irish youngsters Cathal Heffernan and Reece Byrne, along with Shrewsbury's Travis Hernes and Kacey Wooster; the former Southend striker targeted by Tottenham and Arsenal.
