Kylian Mbappe injury update - PSG forced to make special plans for Newcastle trip

by Olly Hawkins ·

According to reports in France, PSG have made special plans to ensure Kylian Mbappe is fit for next week's Champions League meeting on Tyneside.

This comes from L’Équipe, who reveal that the 24-year-old suffered a 'ligament distortion to his left ankle' in Sunday's 4-0 win over Marseille, which saw him force off early after he was unable to continue.

However, the club's medical team have recommended that he's rested for this Saturday's Ligue 1 trip to Clermont, ensuring he's '100% fit' to face Newcastle next Wednesday.

With a eight goals in just six appearances for PSG this season, it will be a huge boost for Les Parisiens to have their top scorer available for their second group game, after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in their opening game of Group F.

For Newcastle fans, Mbappe's injury has created some debate on social media. Would you rather he missed out, boosting our hopes of beating the French giants, or would you prefer to witness us go toe to toe with one of the world's best players at St James' Park?
