3 Newcastle stars named in Team of the Month alongside £40m Toon target

Kieran Trippier, Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon have all made the WhoScored Premier League Team of the Month alongsie summer target and Crystal Palace centre-back Joachim Andersen.

WhoScored is one of the leading sites in data collection and has selected their star 11 based on the highest average ratings across all Premier League players in September.

At 7.89, Trippier has the second highest rating in the league, bettered only by Bukayo Saka. The right-back has played a key role at both ends of the pitch, bagging four assists in our last two league games and playing a key role in three consecutive clean sheets in the PL.

Bruno (7.73) has also rediscovered some of his best form, running the show in wins over Sheffield United and Burnley, while Gordon (7.64) has added end product to his electric pace and work rate. He's won crucial penalties against Brentford and Burnley, also setting up one and scoring another in that 8-0 win at Bramall Lane.

As for Andersen, he's been one of the top-performing centre-backs so far, justifying our summer interest before Crystal Palace's £40m asking price put us off a move. It could be one to watch in January, however.
