Keith Downie reveals double boost from Toon training ground - False alarm on Sandro Tonali?

It seems Sandro Tonali has NOT missed training today, despite fears he'd become the latest Newcastle United star sidelined by injury.

Earlier today, Sky Sports' Keith Downie visited the club's Benton training base and reported that there was no sign of Tonali, Joelinton or Sven Botman.

The latter pair are injured and look almost certain to miss tomorrow night's Champions League clash with PSG, but Downie has now revealed that our £55m man did join in the session - alongside Callum Wilson - despite being absent at the start.

It's suggested that he may have needed treatment or could be nursing a slight knock, but the fact he was able to train along with Wilson is a boost heading into the game. We'll hear more from Eddie Howe when he speaks to the media soon, but let's hope both are OK and passed fit to play.
