Newcastle set to transfer list two players in the January window - Report

by Olly Hawkins ·

Newcastle United will look to move on Emil Krafth and Javier Manquillo in the January transfer, according to reports.

The Northern Echo claim that both will be made available for transfer in the new year, with the pair now surplus to requirements under Eddie Howe.

Neither have played a minute of senior football this season and are in the final year of their contract at St James' Park, making January our last opportunity to receive a fee.

At right-back, new signing Tino Livramento is finding it hard enough to break into the side due to Kieran Trippier's outstanding form, leaving Krafth and Manquillo third and fourth choice in the pecking order.

Krafth has played twice for our Under-21s after stepping up his return from a serious ACL injury suffered last year, while Manquillo has only been named in two of our matchday squads in all competitions this season.

Moving on both would free up space in the squad and help balance the books, but one player who won't be leaving is Jamaal Lascelles. The Echo report that the skipper was touted as a potential outgoing over the summer, yet his admirable displays when filling in for Sven Botman has seen him become a vital squad player.
