Two former Mags seal free agent moves as winger makes Premier League return

by Andrew Reynolds ·

Former Newcastle winger Andros Townsend has signed for Premier League newcomers Luton Town, while Ciaran Clark has joined Stoke in the Championship.

Townsend spent just six months on Tyneside back in 2016, but his short spell at SJP was impressive and earned him a move back to the Premier League with Crystal Palace after our relegation.

Following a recent spell at Everton, the former England international had struggled to find himself a new club after being made a free agent, but he’s now signed with Luton until January.

The 32-year-old will certainly bring some greatly needed experience to the Hatters who have recorded just one victory in their first eight games.

Similarly, Clark has also struggled to find a new home since his contract at Sheffield United expired, but will now join up with a young Stoke side who are struggling in the second division.
