Simon Jordan speaks out on Sandro Tonali - Predicts Newcastle inquest & asks agent question

Simon Jordan has questioned if Newcastle did enough due diligence on Sandro Tonali before signing him from AC Milan, believing our owners will be overseeing an internal inquest ahead of his imminent ban.

Asked if the wool was pulled over Newcastle's eyes, Jordan also discussed if there was any responsibility from the player's agent to share his gambling addiction before we committed to a £55m move just a few months ago.

He realises we may never know the truth behind the timing of this announcement and accepts it's a "very tricky area." Character checks are common before signing them is common in modern day football, but this goes well beyond that and is a private matter that he may have been battling alone when we were negotiating a deal with Milan back in June.
