Incredible Newcastle stats - Alan Shearer blown away as Toon top Premier League charts

Following Saturday's 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, Alan Shearer was on Match of the Day duties to run through our brilliant performance at St James' Park.

The result and the Premier League table say it all, as no one betters our +15 goal difference, but a brilliant graphic came up as Shearer, Micah Richards and Gary Lineker analysed the game, showing that we top the charts for a host of attacking stats.

As the video below shows, we rank top in the Premier League so far this season for goals (24), expected goals (19.89), shots on target inside the box (46), shot conversion rate (18.9%), big chances scores (20) and big chance conversion rate (52.6%), showing how creative and clinical we've been in the final third this season:

It shows how far we've come at both ends of the pitch under Eddie Howe, as we have the fourth best defence in the league so far this season after keeping our sixth clean sheets in our last eight games (in all comps) on Saturday.
