Sandro Tonali ban 'agreed' and decision made on training - Good and bad news for Newcastle?
According to The Mail's Craig Hope, a 10-month ban for Sandro Tonali has been agreed, with the finer details now being finalised.
In a huge boost for the player especially, it's believed the Italian WILL be able to train with the club during his suspension.
That will be a major relief for Tonali and the club - who'll be keen to keep him sharp and amongst his new teammates - while the ban itself is shorter than initially suggested. Recent reports hinted at an 18-month suspension, but 10 months means he'd return next August in time for the 2024/25 season.
With his worldwide ban from football yet to be confirmed, Hope believes it's now 'likely' he's able to feature against Borussia Dortmund tonight, handing the 23-year-old another chance to make his mark before a spell on the sidelines.
All in all, this feels like a decent outcome for the player and club, with the ban kinder than some anticipated and his ability to train with the squad likely to be vital for his physical and mental wellbeing.
