Toon talent suffers injury blow and two loanees go head to head on Tuesday night

by Olly Hawkins ·

Newcastle United loanee Yankuba Minteh looks set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a 'muscle injury' in Feyenoord's 4-0 win over Vitesse on Saturday.

The 19-year-old was enjoying an impressive run in the side, scoring three times in nine Eredivisie appearances, but he'll miss their Champions League clash with Lazio tonight after being ruled out for 'several weeks.'

He started in their 4-0 win over the weekend but was forced off with an injury 15 minutes from time and is unlikely to play until after the next international break in November.

On the subject of Newcastle loanees, Harrison Ashby took on Jamaal Lewis last night as Swansea faced Watford in the Championship.

Ashby had managed just one minute of football over their past seven games, but was handed a rare start on Tuesday night. He was taken off on 79 minutes with the two sides level at 0-0, but Lewis' Watford scored just three minutes later to win 1-0.

Lewis has started each of the last six games for the Hornets, helping them to back-to-back wins and clean sheets against Sheffield Wednesday and now Swansea.
