Arsenal star exposed by Jamaal Lascelles as pathetic antics go public - “I was fuming”

Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles has revealed how he was left 'fuming' after Jorginho refused to shake his hand following our 1-0 victory over Arsenal.

Both players and manager were clearly unhappy with the decision to allow Anthony Gordon's goal, with a bitter Mikel Arteta furious in his pathetic post-match press conference, but this is just a sheer lack of professionalism.

As Lascelles rightly states, 'you can have as many arguments as you want on the pitch but shake hands at the end, it’s part of the sport', yet the Italian midfielder has proved to be truly classless.

That's one thing that Newcastle have achieved perfectly - on the pitch the players will fight for each other no matter what, but off of it, just like the manager, they speak with intelligence and respect for the opposition.

Here's what Lascelles when asked if he was happy had to say on Jorginho when asked if he was happy to get the win:

“Yeah, and especially how they go on as well. I’m just so glad that we beat them.‌ Their captain, Jorginho, didn’t want to shake my hand after the game.

“I was fuming, it’s not on.‌ I would never refuse to shake an opposition captain’s hand, no way. You can have as many arguments as you want on the pitch but shake hands at the end, it’s part of the sport. ‌

“For me, whatever happens on the pitch - handbags or whatever - you show sportsmanship and shake hands afterwards. He didn’t do that, so I’m so glad we beat them. Players like that, I don’t think it’s acceptable.

“A lot of them walked in but I went up to him to shake his hand but he didn’t want to - and he’s their captain! There was a lot of that in the game but that’s football and we managed it well and kept our cool.”

The fact that he is also their captain is a damning statement, you'd be disappointed to see one of their young and perhaps hot-headed talents refuse, but to see it from their leader is so poor.

Arteta’s meltdown, pathetic club statements and now this. I’m so glad we beat them!
