£15m man posts personal statement confirming injury - 11 set to miss Bournemouth trip?

Matt Targett has posted a photo from hospital and confirmed that surgery on his hamstring 'went well' as he prepares for a long spell on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old suffered a serious hamstring injury in the opening minutes of last week's 3-0 win over Man Utd and looks set for 'around three months' out, with Eddie Howe admitting it 'won't be a short-term fix.'

In a personal statement posted on Twitter, Targett revealed his bemusement at this 'completely bizarre injury', insisting he felt 'so good going into the game.'

We have Lewis Hall, Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento all capable of playing at left-back, but it's yet another injury blow for Howe, especially with Dan Burn also ruled out for the next few months with a back injury.

With Callum Wilson also struggling with a 'tight hamstring', we now have 11 players either injured or suspended* heading into Saturday's trip to Bournemouth (Botman, Burn, Targett, Manquillo, Bruno*, Tonali*, Anderson, Barnes, Murphy, Isak, Wilson)
