New footage of Kieran Trippier's angry altercation with Newcastle fan - Watch here

After tonight's 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth, Kieran Trippier was involved in a heated exchange with a Newcastle United fan in the away end.

Our vice-captain had to be pulled away by Joelinton and was later consoled by Eddie Howe, but looked visibly frustrated following a short exchange with a Toon supporter who was clearly giving him an earful after the match.

Watch the incident below, which sees Trippier shout - ”The lads aren’t giving everything?? How many injuries have we got?!" following criticism from one fan in particular:

While criticism can be fair when the team deliver a below-par display, I think fans would be wise to consider the circumstances going into tonight's game. We had 11 senior players missing and have been so depleted in the midst of a hectic schedule, playing league, cup and UCL games without so many key players.

I still believe we tried tonight, but when there's no gas in the tank and already fatigued players are forced to go again and again week on week, it's bound to catch up with us.

It doesn't totally justify the awful display we put in at the Vitality, but for some fans to turn on our players the second we dip well below our usually-high standards is really poor.
