'Here we go!' - Newcastle flop flying to England for medical - Could make debut vs NUFC

Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Matz Sels is all set to sign for Nottingham Forest.

In a 'here we go!' announcement from Fabrizio Romano just moments ago, he's revealed that Forest have agreed a fee in the region of €6/7m for the Strasbourg stopper.

The 31-year-old is due in Nottingham this afternoon for a medical and could even face Newcastle United next weekend, with Eddie Howe's Mags traveling to the City Ground a week on Saturday in the 5.30pm kick-off.

Sels was brought to St James' Park by Rafa Benitez back in 2016, but quickly lost his place to Karl Darlow during our season in the Championship.

He was loaned out to Anderlecht the following year and has been with Ligue 1 side Strasbourg for almost six years, taking the captains armband for the 2023/24 season.
