Newcastle receive late interest in Paul Dummett - Report

According to Lee Ryder at The Chronicle, Newcastle United have received late interest in Paul Dummett ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline.

He reveals that we've received 'tentative enquiries' from Championship side Ipswich Town, who are pushing for promotion and currently 2nd in the second tier.

Newcastle have 'so far resisted' the temptation to sanction a late move away for the Geordie defender, but it'll be interesting to see if that stance changes; especially if his departure would create space for a loan signing?

Wishful thinking, although it would make sense for Dummett to play regular football again at this stage of his career. He's managed just two starts all season - both in the cup - and has played just four minutes of Premier League football.

The 32-year-old is out of contract this summer, so this may be our last chance to get a small fee. Howe seems to value his experience and attitude behind the scenes, I just wonder if now is the time to let him go.
