Newcastle set to appoint Eddie Howe's former colleague after senior departure
Newcastle United are unlikely to make any first-team additions today, but deadline day has brought news of a behind-the-scenes arrival on Tyneside.
As revealed by the Training Ground Guru, Jonny King looks set to leave Leicester and become the new Senior Physio at Newcastle United.
The 35-year-old looks set to replace former Head Physio Danny Murphy, who left the club in December following an extended period of paternity leave.
Eddie Howe and his coaching staff will be familiar with King, who spent four years at Bournemouth between 2011 and 2016. He left for a role within England's FA in 2017 and has spent the past two and a half years at Leicester.
He'll have his hands full on Tyneside, with Newcastle currently having NINE players working their way back from injury in Alexander Isak, Harvey Barnes, Joe WIllock, Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, Elliot Anderson, Joelinton, Nick Pope and Matt Targett.
Not the deadline day 'signing' we were hoping for, but good to see the club replace Murphy after his departure last month.
