Man Utd legend reveals Dan Ashworth red flag ahead of potential Newcastle exit
Roy Keane has flagged up his concerns over Manchester United's approach for Dan Ashworth, questioning the 52-year-old's commitment.
He fears that our current sporting director "doesn't seem to hang around long", feeling he quickly jumped ship at Brighton and is now likely to do the same after less than two seasons on Tyneside.
The Sky Sports pundit has "no doubt" he is very good at his job, but wonders if he'd leave Man Utd for someone like Real Madrid or Barcelona should he arrive at Old Trafford and receive a better offer in 18 months time.
"You're talking about Dan Ashworth coming into Manchester United and being the best for the job, but he doesn't seem to hang around for long," Keane said on the Stick to Football podcast.
"He was at Brighton for a few years, and he's only been at Newcastle for a couple seasons, so you have to look at that too.
"There's no doubt he's brilliant at his job, but who is to say he won't leave in 18 months for Real Madrid or Barcelona."
