Newcastle hit headlines in Brazil as Toon eye exciting South American
If reports in Brazil are to be believed, Newcastle United have their eye on another South American youngster.
As revealed by Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, Newcastle are eyeing up a summer move for Atlético Mineiro forward Alisson Santana.
They claim Toon officials are aware of the 18-year-old's progress and are monitoring his situation, with Arsenal, Fulham, Bayer Leverkusen and PSV also keen on the teenager.
After showing huge potential in the youth ranks, he's now made eight appearances for their first team, earning him a new contract until 2027 that includes a whopping €60m release clause.
This isn't the first time we've been linked with a youngster impressing in South America, although we haven't had much luck so far with Andrey Santos joining Chelsea, Argentine midfielder Maximo Perrone ending up at Man City and several other links coming to nothing.
