Newcastle handed Nick Pope surprise and triple boost ahead of Arsenal trip - Report
It feels like the injury situation at Newcastle United is FINALLY starting to ease (touch wood!).
As revealed by The Telegraph's Luke Edwards, Nick Pope and Elliot Anderson are both edging closer to full fitness, with the former ahead of schedule after he was initially expected back in April following shoulder surgery.
Fabian Schar has overcome an injury scare from last weekend's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, while Joe Willock and Alexander Isak will 'play some part' at Arsenal after coming through training over the past few days.
Pope is likely to return next month and will probably be eased back in, but it would be a huge boost to have our No 1 fit for the final few months of the season.
Anderson's versatility will also be a welcome return, as he and Willock could offer fresh options and something new to a midfield that's lacked balance in recent weeks.
As for Isak, his return feels equally important given Callum Wilson is set to be missing for another few months after surgery on his pectoral muscle last week.
