Official England squad: Gordon called up, £40m man axed, two Mags out & Toney returns
Gareth Southgate has named his England squad ahead of upcoming friendlies against Bruno Guimaraes' Brazil and Belgium over the upcoming international break.
Anthony Gordon has received his first senior call-up; a well-deserved reward for his superb form and a sign that he's quickly overcome a potential knee injury.
Kieran Trippier (calf) misses out and Tino Livramento has not been selected despite being watched by Southgate on Monday, with Liverpool's Joe Gomez called up along with Everton centre-back and reported Toon target Jarrad Branthwaite, who comes in for his first senior cap.
Former Newcastle United target Kalvin Phillips misses out following his poor form since a January loan move to West Ham, but Hammers teammate Jarrod Bowen has been selected alongside former Mag Ivan Toney.
Goalkeepers: Sam Johnstone (Crystal Palace), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal).
Defenders: Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Joe Gomez (Liverpool), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), John Stones (Manchester City), Kyle Walker (Manchester City).
Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), Jordan Henderson (Ajax), James Maddison (Tottenham), Declan Rice (Arsenal).
Forwards: Jarrod Bowen (West Ham), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Ivan Toney (Brentford), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa).
