Yankuba Minteh & Garang Kuol - Newcastle loans manager issues update on Toon talents

Assistant loans manager Peter Ramage has been discussing Yankuba Minteh and Garang Kuol's latest loan moves with the pair currently playing in the Eredivisie.
During an in-depth piece for the i , Mark Douglas has been speaking to Ramage about the teenage duo, with Minteh currently starring at second place Feyenoord and Kuol struggling for minutes at bottom of the table FC Volendam.
The former Toon defender calls Minteh a "great kid" who the club are in "constant communication" with, reviewing his progress and making sure he is given any information Eddie Howe wants him to receive ahead of his return this summer.
“He’s a great kid and he’s taken to it like a duck to water but there’s so much work that has gone on behind the scenes." Ramage said on the 19-year-old Gambian.
“Feyenoord have been brilliant with him and we visit every four to six weeks. We’re in constant communication with Yankuba, we still treat him as a player who is coming through our academy in terms of reviews, analysis, clips and making sure he’s getting any information the manager wants to get to him.
“It’s been a good experience for us working with Feyenoord because the hope is that going down the line we’ll be bringing in more Yankuba Minteh’s and they’ll be going out to Champions League clubs and top European clubs.”
Minteh has had a brilliant time in Rotterdam, scoring seven times in 20 appearances for one of the league's top sides, but Kuol has struggled in a poor side who've faced managerial changes and often played the Australian in an unfamiliar role by new boss Regillio Simons.
“There’s been a lot of political struggles in the background but he’s learning a new style, a new culture in a top European league" Ramage said on Kuol.
“He’s a great kid but he’s very young, he was probably thrust into the scene with that World Cup appearance in 2022 but we have to remember he’s 19 years old and there’s not many that age playing regular football.
“There’s still plenty of time for him to develop and develop into – hopefully – a first-team footballer at Newcastle United.”
