Keith Downie releases Newcastle transfer update - Toon set for perfect start to summer?
Keith Downie has issued a promising update on Newcastle's pursuit of soon-to-be free agents Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly.
Sky Sports' North-East reporters reveals that Newcastle are moving quickly to secure early deals for both, with Toon chiefs aware of the number of clubs competing for the out-of-contract duo.
He reports that Kelly is keen on a move to Tyneside - where he'd be reunited with the man who brought him to Bournemouth in Eddie Howe - and it's thought talks with his representatives have reached an advanced stage.
As for Adarabioyo, Downie reveals that many aspects of a deal to sign the Fulham centre-back are 'agreed', but there's a few finer details still to be sorted before he becomes our first signing of the summer.
Newcastle remain confident both will sign, suggesting we really are closing in on a low-cost double deal that would add huge strength in depth to a defence missing Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles following ACL surgery.
