Kelly signs! - Watch announcement video as Newcastle confirm summer signing

Newcastle United have announced the signing of Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer from Bournemouth.

After releasing an announcement video (watch below) to confirm his arrival, the club revealed that the 25-year-old defender will officially join on 1st July 2024; the day after his contract comes to an end at Bournemouth.

Kelly arrives on a free transfer and is expected to sign a five-year deal that includes an option of a further year, which could keep him on Tyneside until 2026.

The former Cherries captain completed his medical in London yesterday and becomes Eddie Howe's first signing of what promises to be a busy summer at St James' Park.

A shrewd piece of business to sign a versatile and talented defender with Premier League experience, with his ability to play centre-back in Sven Botman's absence and at left-back a key attraction.
