Newcastle turn attention to three signings and surprise sale after Kelly medical - Report
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United have shifted their attention to the signings of a right winger, right-sided centre-back and striker following the arrival of Lloyd Kelly.
After passing his medical in London yesterday, the left-sided defender will become our first summer signing after penning a five-year deal at St James' Park on a free transfer.
However, this is just the start of a busy window for Eddie Howe's Mags, with Luke Edwards reporting that we are now upping our efforts to seal three more priority signings ahead of the 2024/25 season.
James Trafford is looking increasingly likely to arrive as the young goalkeeper recruited to compete with Nick Pope and we're also in need of a right-sided upgrade on Miguel Almiron, with Michael Olise, Jarrod Bowen, Nico Williams, Bryan Mbeumo, Pedro Neto and Crysencio Summerville all linked in recent weeks.
Competition for Fabian Schar is also needed after Chelsea beat us to a deal for Tosin Adarabioyo, with an injection of pace wanted down that side. Another striker has also been targeted, with Callum Wilson's future in doubt now he's 32, entering the final 12 months of his contract and considering a new challenge elsewhere.
With PSR a constant factor and 'player trading' likely to help us comply with FFP rules, Edwards insists that outgoings will also be key and a big theme of our summer, with Yankuba Minteh tipped for a surprise exit.
