"Nowhere near" - Another Newcastle deal in serious doubt & Costa linked with Toon move
Southampton boss Russell Martin has revealed that the club are "nowhere near a deal" to bring Ryan Fraser back to the club, while Toulouse defender Logan Costa has been linked with a potential move to St James' Park once again today.
Starting with Fraser, the Saints boss sounded pessimistic about their hopes of re-signing Fraser when speaking to talkSPORT's Alex Crook, insisting nothing is remotely close on that front.
The winger enjoyed a successful loan spell at St Mary's last season, helping them earn promotion back to the Premier League, but a return to the South Coast on a permanent deal appears to be in serious doubt, with this coming after Miguel Almiron's proposed move to MLS side Charlotte FC collapsed earlier today.
Elsewhere, Ligue 1 journalist Sebastien Vidal has made some big claims today on Newcastle's reported interest in Toulouse centre-back Logan Costa.
He believes that we're preparing a formal bid for the 23-year-old, who is thought to be available for a fee in the region of €20m-€25m following an impressive season in France.
