Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist discuss Newcastle and release 2024/25 predictions

Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist have both given their Premier League predictions for the upcoming season with Newcastle tipped for Champions League football by the former Sky Sports presenter.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Stelling backed Newcastle’s chances of getting back into the top four, though he added that we would need to avoid last season's injury crisis and must sign another centre-back after bids for Marc Guehi.

Stelling said: "For me, Newcastle had a lot of injuries last season. But this season if they stay relatively injury-free, they do not have Champions League to cope with this time. They're trying to strengthen at the back with [Marc] Guehi. I'm gonna go with Newcastle for fourth place."

McCoist thinks we'll improve on last season's 7th place finish and is ’really looking forward’ to watching Eddie Howe’s side this year, but feels we may fall just short of fourth place, backing Man Utd to get back into the top four. He said: "I think there'll be an improvement from Newcastle. I'm really looking forward to seeing Newcastle again but I'm not sure they will break into the top four."
