Newcastle 'in contact' over €25m Dutchman - New name linked but does it really add up?

According to reports in Turkey, Newcastle United are interested in signing Dutch defender Jayden Oosterwolde who currently plays for Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce.
This comes from Turkish outlet Aslinda, who claim that Newcastle and Crystal Palace have both been 'in contact' over the 23-year-old, with both clubs eyeing centre-back reinforcements over the final two weeks of the summer window.
With Palace demanding huge money for Marc Guehi, some wonder if Newcastle will move on to alternatives. That could make sense, but a move for Oosterwolde does not when he's a left-footed defender who operates as a left-sided centre-back or left-back.
Four of his six of his appearances so far this season have come at full-back, suggesting he's far more in the mould of Lloyd Kelly or Dan Burn, not a right-footed option who can eventually replace Fabian Schar. With this in mind, it may be best to take this new link with a real pinch of salt.
Aslinda state that Fenerbahce are keen to retain Oosterwolde but could be tempted by offers in the region of €25m, allowing them to make a healthy profit following his €6m move from Parma just 18 months ago.
