€45m centre-back 'on the verge' of Premier League move - Newcastle or Crystal Palace?
According to reports in Germany, Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Odilon Kossounou is on the verge of joining an unnamed Premier League club for a fee of around €45m.
This comes from Kicker, who report that an offer is on the table and a move to England is in the offing, although it's currently unclear if it's Crystal Palace or Newcastle who could be landing the Ivory Coast international.
They state 'many things indicate' that it could be Palace - who are pushing to replace Joachim Andersen ahead of his £30m move to Fulham - but state that Newcastle are also keen on the 23-year-old.
The same that both Palace and Newcastle have shown interest in fellow centre-back Edmond Tapsoba, but Leverkusen have declared him 'untouchable' and are reluctant to sell the Burkina Faso star ahead of their return to the Champions League.
Time will tell if there's any truth in these big claims from Germany, but if it's Palace who are closing in on a big-money move for Kossounou, you suspect it could be good news in our pursuit of Marc Guehi?
