Crystal Palace issue official Marc Guehi update after Newcastle talks - "Yes, I can confirm"
Crystal Palace have now confirmed that Marc Guehi is going nowhere and will not be leaving for Newcastle before tonight's 11pm deadline.
Speaking to the press this afternoon ahead of their trip to Chelsea this weekend, manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that the 24-year-old is staying at the club.
He's praised Palace's determination to keep him, saying "they didn't give in" during talks with Newcastle, and paid tribute to Guehi for refusing to force a move to St James' Park.
Asked if Guehi is staying, Glasner said: "Yes I can confirm. But I was never in doubt. Congratulations to our owners because they didn't give in. Thank you to Marc, he was always open with me. All the rumours didn't influence his performances.
"He always told me that he's not pushing to leave Crystal Palace and that is always for me the most important thing."

It's a bad end to a tedious transfer saga for Newcastle United, but at least it's over after weeks of bids, rejected offers and 'positive talks' that came to nothing.
