Alexander Isak answers awkward question live on Sky Sports after Man Utd win

Last week, The Telegraph's Luke Edwards reported that Newcastle United have slapped an asking price in excess of £150m on Alexander Isak's head.

Arsenal continue to be linked and I'm sure most top clubs would love to sign the Swede, but speculation isn't impacting him as the striker made it eight goals and two assists for December in last night's vital win at Old Trafford.

As usual, however, it didn't take long for the media, this time Sky Sports, to ask about reports around his future and mammoth price tag following his stunning run of form.

Isak quizzed on £150m claims

After scoring in our 2-0 win at Old Trafford, Alexander Isak was interviewed by Sky Sports presenter Dave Jones and pundit Jamie Carragher.

Shortly after discussing his form and the game itself, Jones asked: "I don't know if you read the papers, Alexander, but there was a few yesterday saying the club had put a 150 million pounds price tag on your head. What's your reaction when you see stories like that?

Isak's response was classy and just what we wanted to hear "No, it doesn't really faze me too much. I think that's more for you guys and for fans to talk about.

"I'm in the middle of the season and I think it's going really well for me and the team, so, you know, all my focus is here and I'm really happy with how things are going. My focus is on the pitch."

There'll come a point where we must be playing Champions League football to keep Isak happy at the club, but he always speaks like a man who is settled on Tyneside and committed to the project.

The best striker in the Premier League?

With 10 goal involvements across six Premier League games in December, Isak is on fire and the most feared striker in the country right now.

Is he better than Erling Haaland? The Man City star may still be considered the best goalscorer, but I don't think there's any doubt that Isak has more to his game than the Norwegian.

We are lucky to have Isak and long may it continue, with his unique blend of ice cool finishing, brilliant ball-striking, explosive dribbling and ability to link the play a joy to watch.
