Two 8.5s, one 8 and several 7s - Player ratings from Spurs 1-2 Newcastle

Another huge win for Newcastle United, with goals from Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak helping us to a 2-1 victory over Spurs on Sven Botman's return to competitive action.

Here's our player ratings and comments on each Mag involved in today's vital win:

Dubravka (7.5) - His run of clean sheets came to end early on. Couldn’t do much with the goal but made a couple of decent saves in the second half and showed real composure when picking passes from the back. Took a whack from Solanke and did well to gather a few crosses.

Livramento* (8.5) - Showed all facets of his game today. Carried the ball well in the first half and was a nuisance in attack then showed his defensive acumen as we sat back in the second half. Brilliant pace, athleticism and read danger well. Our man of the match.

Botman (7) - A welcome return but he was understandably rusty, losing Solanke for their early goal and taking some time to settle. Grew into the game in an unfamiliar right centre back position. The odd nice cross-field pass before he was forced off late on, hopefully with nothing more than cramp.

Burn (7.5) - Early yellow meant he was walking on eggshells but performed well as we have come to expect. Relished the physical battle with Solanke and put out some fires with some vital headers and interceptions.

Hall (7) - Not his most influential game with most of Spurs traffic coming down his wing. Still played well but he has set ridiculously high standards of late! Noticeable how his one-vs-one defending has come on; he's very rarely beaten.

Guimaraes (8.5) - Assist for the equaliser and a tremendous performance yet again, mixing graft and fight with quality in possession. Was everywhere and showed his IQ to see the game out. Interchange of passing with Tonali is a joy to see.

Tonali (7.5) - His pace really stood out at times today as well as his ability to take control in pressure situations. Positionally exposed a couple of times early on by Bergvall but quickly made the necessary changes. A very intelligent footballer.

Joelinton (7.5) - An absolute brute in midfield. Collected a yellow card which had been coming after accumulating plenty of fouls! Saw the game out with his customary hold up play in the corner.

Murphy (7) - His penchant for a quick cross has reaped benefits of late. Rare in modern football to see a winger look to whip early balls in and he got his now obligatory assist. Went missing in the second half but was superb in the first.

Gordon (8) - Tremendous finish to equalise on his weaker left foot and could’ve had a couple more. Took a shoulder to the face which left him covered in blood but bravely continued. Ran his socks off

Isak (7.5) - Scored in seven consecutive Premier League games to continue his purple patch. Pressed well from the front and should’ve scored earlier when he poked wide from another Murphy cross. Went quiet in the second half as we struggled to get going in attack.

Subs:

Barnes (6) - Had an opportunity to make it safe towards the end and was thrown on to carry the ball forward. Will be eager to get some more minutes

Longstaff (NR) - A little sloppy but worked hard for the team.

Willock (NR) - Helped us see it out late on with a few carries into space.

Kelly (NR) - On for the final few minutes after Botman cramped up.
