Newcastle plan exciting move for the “perfect Eddie Howe player” - Craig Hope
It’s no secret that Newcastle are in the market for a new right-winger, with young gems likely to be targeted over proven stars who come with a hefty price tag.
With expensive moves for in-form domestic targets Bryan Mbeumo or Antoine Semenyo unlikely and links to PSV’s Johan Bakayoko going quiet, there’s a teenage sensation who is fast becoming a big ‘one to watch’ in 2025.
Here is the latest as Newcastle prepare to step up their interest in one of the breakout stars in the Premier League this season.
Craig Hope issues exciting Dibling update
After releasing a Mail+ exclusive a few days ago on our long-standing interest in Tyler Dibling, Craig Hope has issued another update on the Southampton winger.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Hope revealed that “there will be an attempt to sign” the 18-year-old this year, believing conversations over a move could happen soon ahead of a potential summer switch.
He also reports that the club would love to have all-English partnerships of Hall-Gordon and Livramento-Dibling down the left and right of Eddie Howe’s XI, with the Saints sensation deemed the ‘perfect player’ for Howe based on his high potential, work ethic and versatility.
On the Dibling pursuit, Hope said: “I’m really excited by this one. At just 18 years old, his ceiling is very high and he works hard. They appreciate his versatility, too - he can play as an 8, a 10 or on the right wing. He ticks every box as the perfect Eddie Howe player.”
“Hall-Gordon and Livramento-Dibling partnerships down the flanks are viewed as the future of both Newcastle and England.”
“It’s more likely to be a deal which they revisit in the summer, but conversations will likely be had before that. It’s definitely one to watch - there WILL be an attempt to sign him.”

Mitchell links to come in handy?
Paul Mitchell’s previous links to Southampton, where he worked as a sporting director, can hopefully aid our pursuit of Dibling, who could be in high demand this year.
The Saints are also a club we’ve dealt with before after signing Tino Livramento from the South Coast side 18 months ago in a deal worth an initial £32m.
Hope reports that Liverpool are also in the mix and could have the edge on Newcastle if they step up their interest, but our long-term admiration, Howe’s ability to improve players and Mitchell’s previous with Southampton can hopefully help us get this one wrapped up.
