Newcastle handed early advantage as team suffers two major blows ahead of Toon trip

Despite being undoubtedly brilliant, Newcastle United have some luck on their side in recent weeks.

Ipswich were without their top scorer Liam Delap (suspended) during out 4-0 win last month, Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte were both banned for our 2-0 win at Old Trafford, Spurs were in the middle of an injury crisis during last week's win in North London and Arsenal were missing their star attacker in Bukayo Saka last night.

Wolves' Matheus Cunha will be back for next Wednesday's Premier League meeting with Wolves, but Bournemouth have had a nightmare on the injury front ahead of their visit to Newcastle.

Next Saturday's opponents dealt double blow

After Bournemouth striker Evanilson was ruled out for two months this week with a broken foot, the Cherries have lost another player to a serious injury ahead of next Saturday's trip to Tyneside.

Just as he was expected to fill in for Evanilson, fellow striker Enes Ünal has torn his ACL in training, leaving Andoni Iraola’s team without a recognised striker for next Saturday's game.

The Cherries have had a superb season and currently sit 7th, just two points behind Newcastle in 5th, but they've been suddenly been left short in attack.

As a result, they've been forced to recall Daniel Jebbison from his loan stint with Watford, which is hardly inspiring Bournemouth fans when he hasn't managed one goal in 13 Championship outings this season.

Huge chance to keep the run going

Not only do we have League Two side Bromley in the FA Cup on Sunday, five of our next six games will be at St James' Park!

After Bromley, we face a winnable double-header in the league against Wolves and Bournemouth, followed by a trip to bottom of the table Southampton and Fulham at home.

Considering we've won seven on the spin and are full of confidence, this feels like a huge chance to keep our incredible run going.
