Sandro Tonali's agent issues transfer message as more rumours arrive from Italy

Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali has once again had his name thrown around in the media after rumours suggesting he could return back to Serie A in the near future have resurfaced.

Upon joining the Magpies, Italian reports claimed that the former AC Milan captain was forced into the move and never actually wanted to join Newcastle in the first place, though that clearly was not the case.

With these rumours again circulating, Tonali’s agent has now had his say on the situation, and it makes for good reading for Newcastle fans.

Tonali’s agent drops major hint on his future

Since coming back from his suspension at the beginning of the season, Tonali has made a monumental difference to the team and has worked incredibly well alongside teammates Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton.

He adds such a calm presence at the base of our midfield, can drive with the ball, is superb technically and has an incredible engine, ending games with lung-busting runs just as others are tiring.

Despite finally looking settled in the team,, however, a report from Gazzetta dello Sport have come back with another desperate rumour, claiming Juventus plan to offer Douglas Luiz in a part-exchange for the 24-year-old.

Not only would it be completely nonsensical for us to ship Tonali out now when he is finally playing at his best, but even his agent is claiming that Italian clubs cannot afford him, insisting his career looks set to be "far away from Serie A."

Speaking on Tonali, his agent Beppe Riso said:

“Back to Serie A in June? He is one of the best midfielders in the world, he has a price Italian clubs will hardly be able to pay.

"I imagine a career for him far away from Serie A.”

Newcastle in no hurry to sell this summer

Unlike in previous windows that have seen us offering players out to avoid PSR punishments, this summer we are in a completely contrasting position given our latest sales and lack of spending.

There are rumours of our budget being at least £100m and our improved financial position means our star players do not need to be sold, though European football will still likely be necessary to retain them.

A strong finish to the season would put us firmly in the driving seat this coming window and would give the likes of Tonali absolutely no reason to leave in the near future.
