Newcastle planning 'secret' signing? - A surprise transfer could be on the cards...
Over the past few days, there have been hints from a couple of North East reporters that Newcastle may be plotting the arrival of another surprise overseas addition.
After Luke Edwards and Mark Douglas hinted at the above, The Athletic have revealed this morning that insiders at Newcastle are currently delighted that identities of certain targets from abroad have remained concealed.
Sandro Tonali and Alexander Isak are the two most expensive additions in the club's history, yet both arrived with little media build up, much to the delight of supporters.
There were no transfer sagas that dragged on for either, just two top-quality signings who arrived in secret. But could Newcastle pull off a similar deal in the coming weeks?
The Telegraph report that the club are looking to 'operate more secretly' while shopping abroad and hint that our next centre-back signing may come from outside the Premier League.
Not only that, Luke Edwards has this morning dropped a cryptic eye emoji tweet, quoting his own post last week that suggested 'surprise' signing from abroad could be in the offing...

Newcastle's domestic targets are out there in the open - James Trafford, Marc Guehi, Anthony Elanga and Joao Pedro - but some of our best business has come from France, Italy and Spain, with Bruno Guimaraes, Isak, Tonali and Sven Botman all proving to be superb additions at very reasonable prices.
Sporting Lisbon's Ousmane Diomande has been linked, but there is some skepticism around that link, leaving many to wonder who the club really are targeting should a 'secret signing' emerge out of the blue.
Comment below with your best guesses, with the criteria being an overseas addition who is yet to be linked that fits the bill for Eddie Howe's Newcastle.
