Full details on Elanga deal - Fee, add-ons, contract, medical & arrival on Tyneside
Anthony Elanga is finally on his way to Newcastle United, with news of a Monday night breakthrough music to the ears of many on Tyneside.
It was confirmed around 9pm tonight that a deal has been agreed between Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, with a long-term deal all set to be signed.
However, The Athletic's David Ornstein, arguably the top journalist in the industry, has now shared further details on the deal.
Ornstein reports that the initial fee is £52m, plus bonuses that are considered 'difficult to reach', suggesting the fee may not rise to the £55m some have reported.
As for the contract, Ornstein reveals that personal terms have been agreed over a five-year deal, keeping the Swedish winger on Tyneside until 2030.
The player is currently in Portugal, overseeing a personal training camp with fitness coaches, but he is due to complete a medical in the next 48 hours, with the club expecting him on Tyneside to meet his new teammates 'by the end of the week.'
