Will Osula set for £30m move as Newcastle agree shock sale and buy-back clause
In another major twist on this bonkers deadline day at Newcastle United, it looks like Will Osula will be the latest striker to hit the headlines.
The Danish forward, who was linked with a surprise switch to Aston Villa earlier today, is now closing in on a move to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
In a shock update from The Mail's Craig Hope, it's emerged that Osula is 'on the verge' of joining Frankfurt in a dal worth £30m.
Hope adds that Newcastle remain in talks over a deal, but it's expected to go ahead, with the club including a buy-back option in his surprise switch to Germany.
Osula started in our 0-0 draw at Leeds on Saturday and scored in last Monday's 3-2 defeat to Liverpool, coming on from the bench and bagging at the Gallowgate End before the Reds scored a stoppage time winner.
Speaking about Osula last week, Howe praised his performance against Liverpool but opened the door to a potential move for the sake of his game time:
"Regular football will be something he needs for his own career at some stage, but whether that’s now or in the future, who knows?"
"I thought Will did really well when he came on on Monday night, he gave us renewed energy, he has improved a lot from this time last year.
"He has gained the knowledge and experience of how we play, he is gaining in confidence and that goal will do him the world of good."
