Ramsdale starts in 4 Newcastle changes - Predicted team vs Everton

Newcastle United's relentless schedule continues, as we follow that midweek defeat in Marseille with a return to Premier League action today.

Another 5.30pm kick-off awaits, this time it's away from home as we look to back up last Saturday's 2-1 win over Man City with a much-needed victory at Everton.

The big question is, who will Eddie Howe start? Will it be Nick Pope or Aaron Ramsdale? Dan Burn or Fabian Schar? And will we see Anthony Gordon against his former club?

Predicted XI

Keeping in mind player fitness, our midweek rotation and Howe's pre-match comments, I think we'll see...

(4-3-3): Ramsdale – Livramento, Thiaw, Burn, Hall – Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton – Murphy, Woltemade, Barnes.

OUT: Pope, Schar, Willock and Gordon. IN: Ramsdale, Hall, Joelinton, Woltemade.

Howe has defended Pope since his Marseille howler and I did have a feeling he'd stand by the former Burnley man, but we have received word that Ramsdale could be set for his first league start of the season.

At centre-back, I think Schar should keep his place after he and Thiaw kept Erling Haaland quiet last Saturday, but I think Burn will start alongside the German for his leadership and height against an Everton side who are strong from set pieces.

Livramento and Hall should start their first away game together, I expect Joelinton to start after a rest in midweek and Woltemade to return upfront, with no room for Gordon based on Barnes' strong form and Murphy nailing down that right winger slot, for now at least.

How do you see us lining up when the team sheets are released at 4.15pm? Let us know in the comments below.
