Jamie Reuben issues Newcastle United message at Christmas
To say that 2025 has been an eventful year for Newcastle United and us fans would be putting it lightly.
The first piece of domestic silverware in close to 70 years, huge wins against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd, and the return of Champions League nights to St James’ Park once again have made 2025 one to truly remember.
So whilst results haven’t all gone our way in recent weeks, it is important to recognise that we’ve still made immense progress this year.
That’s the core message from Jamie Reuben, as he thanked the fans for their unwavering support over the last 12 months, and hinted that things were only going to get bigger and better in 2026 and beyond…
Reuben sends Christmas message to fans
Writing on X, the minority co-owner has expressed his gratitude for the fans, in particular the travelling supporters, for following and supporting the lads both in the league and across all competitions.
Along with celebrating what we've achieved in an eventful 2025, he also issues a timely reminder that success rarely goes 'in a straight line', acknowledging the frustration at our recent dip, but offering hope that there is much more to come in this long term project in 2026 and beyond:
“I want to wish all our @NUFC supporters at home and around the world a wonderful Christmas and New Year period."We are immensely grateful for your support this year, travelling far and wide at great expense to support our team, thank you.”
“We have had some incredible results in 2025 and our first trophy in many many years, that is something to celebrate!”
“As a fan, I too feel deeply the results that go against us, but success and progress never just go in a straight line.
“This is a long term project to restore NUFC to the highest levels of football and that work will continue into 2026 and beyond.
"Merry Christmas and Up The Mags.”
With the January transfer window just around the corner, as well as some huge fixtures across all competitions, there’s high fan expectation that the club will deliver on all fronts.
And it looks like Reuben recognises this, with 2026 hopefully a year where results get back on track, top signings arrive, big sponsorships are secured and a decision is made on the future of St James' Park.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
