Predicted XI
4 changes? - Predicted Newcastle team to face Burnley tonight
Newcastle are back in action tonight, taking on Burnley in the 7.30pm kick off at Turf Moor.
We’re searching for just our second away win of the season, while second bottom Burnley have drawn one and lost four of their last five at home.
Here is the side we’re backing Eddie Howe to go with and why…
(4-3-3): Pope – Miley, Thiaw, Schar, Hall – Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton – Barnes, Wissa, Gordon.
OUT: Ramsdale, Ramsey, Murphy, Woltemade. IN: Pope, Joelinton, Barnes, Wissa.
Pope’s involvement will depend on his recovery from illness, but if he’s OK I believe it’s time for him to return and put an end to the Ramsdale experiment.
In midfield, Joelinton played for the first time since Leverkusen in his cameo at Old Trafford, so I’m backing him to replace Ramsey after his run in the side. I wouldn’t be shocked if Willock played, mind.
In attack, I think this is the game to get Gordon and Barnes into the side, while Wissa’s ability to come alive in the box could be vital against a Burnley defence who’ll try to frustrate us.
