Barnes and Woltemade start – Confirmed Newcastle and Leeds team news
Newcastle return to Premier League action tonight, taking on Leeds in the 8.15pm kick-off at St James’ Park.
We can make it three wins in a row with a win, but it won't be easy against a Leeds side who've drawn five and won two of their last seven league games.
When we met Daniel Farke’s side at Elland Road earlier in the season, it was a dull, goalless affair. But with two bonus strikers added to our ranks since then, here’s hoping it will be a more eventful game.
Here’s how the two sides line up...
Confirmed line ups
Newcastle XI: Pope – Miley, Schar, Thiaw, Hall – Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton – Barnes, Woltemade, Gordon.
Substitutes: Ramsdale, Trippier, Botman, Wissa, Livramento, J.Murphy, Willock, A.Murphy, Ramsey
Leeds XI: Perri - Justin, Rodon, Bijol, Strujik, Gudmundsson - Ampadu, Gruev, Stach - Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin.
Eddie Howe has made two changes from Sunday's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, seeing Nick Woltemade and Harvey Barnes come in for Yoane Wissa and Jacob Murphy respectively.
As expected, Dan Burn, Anthony Elanga, Will Osula and Emil Krafth all miss out again through injury.
Even with the return of Tino Livramento to the squad, Lewis Miley retains his spot at right back, where he’ll be looking to once again win Player of the Match.
Jacob Murphy, who many expected to miss out due to a hamstring concern following the Crystal Palace win, only makes the bench.
For Leeds, Ethan Ampadu returns from a one-game ban and Joe Rodon is back at centre-back. with local lad and former Toon star Sean Longstaff out of the squad entirely as he awaits his own return from injury.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been a thorn in our side before during his Everton days, and he retains his place up top for Leeds tonight.
Howay the lads!
