Official update on Livramento, Woltemade and Miley for Man City clash - Five ruled out

Newcastle's relentless schedule continues this weekend, as we follow Wednesday night's home win over Manchester United with a Saturday night clash with Manchester City in the FA Cup.

Eddie Howe has been speaking to the media this morning, starting with an update on injuries and availability ahead of tomorrow night's clash with Pep Guardiola at St James' Park.

Here is what he had to say, providing updates on three first-team stars who missed our midweek win over Man Utd.

Howe's Friday morning update

Nick Woltemade 'should be OK' as he recover from a recent bout of illness, Lewis Miley remains out and Tino Livramento is a 'wait and see' for this weekend.

Howe is waiting to see if Tino will train with the group ahead of tomorrow's game, but Miley won't make the 'next couple of games', suggesting he'll miss upcoming clashes with Man City, Barcelona and perhaps even our trip to Chelsea next Saturday.

"Tino [Livramento] is getting there, let’s wait and see. He hasn’t trained with us yet, but he has done a lot of work. He has a lot of work behind him, but it is just that training time with us.

“Nick [Woltemade] should be okay, had an illness and has lost some weight. He trained yesterday individually and felt okay.

"Lewis [Miley] isn't there yet and will not make the next couple of games."

Jacob Ramsey is suspended after his red card on Wednesday, while Bruno Guimaraes, Fabian Schar and Emil Krafth remain on the sidelines alongside Miley.
